“It’s funny how, in this journey of life, even though we may begin at different times and places, our paths cross with others so that we may share our love, compassion, observations and hope.” – Steve Maraboli
Sometimes you have chance encounters with strangers and you are left extraordinarily moved, exhilarated and/or changed. I had one such encounter last Friday in a hotel elevator in Florida. What started as my complimenting her hair color turned into a hour plus conversation on hair, faith, family, grieving, dreams and friendships; involving tears, hugs and insight.
She was comfortable in her own skin, and radiated more confidence with each vulnerability she shared. Allowing me to be the same.
She reminded me that my perceptions and assumptions are not necessarily reality. Therefore, Be Me, All of Me. The Flawed Me. The Wild Hair Me. The Determined Me.
And not to forget to be gentle with myself.
Life places people and experiences in our paths exactly when we need them, keep your “eyes” open.
“Vulnerability is our most accurate measurement of courage.” -Brene Brown
