A Gentle Touch

Sometimes all you need is a smile, a gentle touch, a kind reminder that you are not alone.

In the cold darkness of a winter morning, I literally dragged myself to work, overwhelmed with the stresses of winter, work and caring for a toddler while battling yet another cold. As I got off the train and slowly walked up to the concourse, a fellow train rider gently pat me on my shoulder and (with deep kindness and concern in her face) softly told me to have a great weekend. I exhaled, smiled and wished her the same.

Weeks later, I am still touched by her thoughtfulness. The simple things can change your perspective and touch your soul.

Have you shared your smile today?
