Re-Enactment of 1777 Whitemarsh Encampment

Last Sunday, we finally stopped by the Hope Lodge to experience the re-enactment of the 1777 Encampment by General George Washington and the Continental Army  in the Whitemarsh Hills. There were demonstrations, skirmishes, tours of Hope Lodge and colonial crafts.

For years I passed by Hope Lodge while the re-enactment took place but something pulled me in this morning.

It was a history lesson and reminder of how much I don’t remember of American history from high school.

Many of the volunteers do several re-enactment each year. A deep love of history and re-enactment.
